Meet Scott and Anysia Hutchens
Scott and Anysia are the on-site villa hospitality managers at Valhalla St John. They live on the property in a private apartment at the villa's lower northwest corner, ensuring that expert support is always just steps away during your stay in Catherineberg, St. John, US Virgin Islands.
Scott holds a degree in Finance and Economics from Plymouth State University. Anysia studied Corporate Communications and Musical Performance with a concentration in Italian at Belmont University. Together they bring deep expertise in hospitality, home building and management, large-scale renovations, luxury housekeeping, and finish carpentry — skills honed over years of living and working on St. John.
Anysia's family roots in the US Virgin Islands trace back to St. Croix in the mid-1990s. After traveling across the Pacific together in 2016, Scott and Anysia chose St. John as their home. Their love for the island is evident in every recommendation they make and every detail they attend to at Valhalla St John.
More Than Hospitality
Scott and Anysia perform together as “Chasing Hues,” a live music duo with nearly a decade of performances on St. John and beyond. They also perform with the island band “The Elixirs.” Valhalla guests can book a private two-hour Chasing Hues show on the pool deck with a customized set list for $600 — discounted from the standard $750 rate. The duo also performs at sunset dinners, anniversaries, weddings, and special events at the villa, with 20% off the standard in-villa performance rate for Valhalla guests.
Anysia also runs Anysia's Apothecary and ISLE of ALOE, a locally-grown skincare line made with fresh aloe vera from St. John. Every Valhalla guest receives a complimentary 2 oz sample at check-in, with full-size 3.4 oz travel bottles available for purchase at $20 each.
Off-stage, Scott and Anysia founded the St. John Lacrosse Club more than three years ago and coach youth players on the island. Both play for the USVI National Lacrosse Programs. When they are not at Valhalla St John, you will find them diving the Caribbean waters or exploring the trails and beaches that make St. John one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

The Welcome Committee
Meet Sunny and Salomoon
No introduction to the Valhalla St John team would be complete without Sunny and Salomoon. Sunny is a friendly orange tabby who enjoys socializing with guests and has never met a veranda he didn't like. Salomoon (Sal) is a black rescue cat who may seem reserved at first but warms up quickly — especially if you happen to be sitting near the pool deck at sunset.
Both cats are part of the Valhalla St John family and are beloved by returning guests. They are outdoor cats and won't be in your suite, but you will likely spot them lounging on the stone walls or patrolling the gardens of Catherineberg.
